September 12th on Rosie's blog! - March 17, 2007

I am back from playing on the R Family Cruise. It was amazing and inspiring as always. Founders Kelli & Rosie O'Donnell as well as Gregg Kaminsky are the best.

Rosie has put one of my songs on her blog. It is the mini-soundtrack for one of her short movies - the ones that show us all the thoughts in her head.

If you have added to my guestbook after hearing the song - you all rock! I do have the song (It is called "September 12th" and I wrote it with Judy Wieder) recorded on an EP called the Kitchen Sink. It should be for sale on CD Baby in the next week or so. The song will also be available on itunes and other sites for digital download.

For those of you who haven't ever visited Rosi'e's blog check out http://www.rosie.com and for good measure try http://rfamilyvacations.com
And to Ms. O'Donnell herself. Thank you so much.

Happy 2006! - January 8, 2006

A new year and many new projects in the works. I will keep you posted as they move along.

I hope to have new songs up on the website very soon. The musical rolls along - not in the free and easy way that songs do but still with a life of its own.

I have a couple of gigs in Texas in June/July that I am really looking forward to! I also have some tentative plans for the Nevada/Northern California area and I am working on some others.

Stay tuned!

The Studio - November 6, 2005

Going into the studio at the end of November with Judy and my friend Colin Mitchell to record some songs that are long overdue. Stripped down and in your face. Hope to have them to all of you by early next year - if not in a CD then online. Recording Franklin's Song, Blue Sky (Edith & Willa), and more...

Thank you - November 6, 2005

Thanks to all who purchased, downloaded, and otherwise listened to my music over the past months. Made some money for Red Cross and got more music out there. I am thankful for all of you who continue to support what I do.

American Red Cross - September 4, 2005

The profits from any of my CD sales made on CD Baby through October 15th will go to the American Red Cross. So if you were thinking of buying one of my CDs or sharing my music with a friend, now's the time. There are other artists on CD Baby donating as well. You can find my CDs by going to the BUY section of my website and there is a link to CD Baby in my LINKS TO OTHERS. Thank you as always for your support.

New Songs - August 26, 2005

I am getting ready to record a couple of songs you may have heard at my gigs that are not part of the musical: Franklin's Song and Blue Sky. The plan is to make them available as downloads on the website. So keep checking back!

The Musical - August 26, 2005

Working Title: The Pursuit of Happiness
I wrote a song about Willa Cather (the great American writer) and the woman she lived with for 40 years in Greenwich Village: Edith Lewis. This led to an obsession with those two women and a need to do something bigger than what I am able to do alone on stage. It also led to a desire to go back to my musical theater roots - something that was reinforced by playing on Rosie and Kelli O'Donnell's R Family Cruises where Musical Theater is revered and very much alive and well. After seeing a PBS piece on Philippe Petit - the man who rigged a cable between the towers of the world trade center and then walked across it - I had an idea that perhaps I could connect the dots between all of us: Willa, Edith, Philippe, myself, and others. I started asking myself some questions. And so the hope of a musical was born. I will keep you posted as it gets further along. I am not under any illusions that a musical happens quickly - especially now that I have had a few months of this under my belt. Yikes - what was I thinking?! I have four or five songs written now - but who can say if they will ultimately stay? And since I have no experience in actually writing a musical - only in being part of one - this could take a while. I am taking something of a hiatus from performing so I can concentrate on this though I have a few gigs scheduled for next year and I am grateful for them. I feel like I am on some kind of spiritual search. Maybe I am.
